About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting operations. Reporting directly to the part-time CFO, you will manage a small accounting team of two people. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic company’s growth journey.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Payroll
- Supervise, mentor, and manage the performance of a small accounting team (2 staff members)
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Manage tax filings, HST returns, and other statutory compliance requirements
- Develop and improve internal financial controls and processes to ensure operational efficiency
- Support the CFO with financial analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes
- Assist with year-end processes and coordinate with external accountants
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation or progress toward it is a plus)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the construction or real estate industries
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing small accounting teams
- Highly organized with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
