Great civil projects are won long before ground is broken. This role is built for an intermediate estimator who takes pride in reading between the lines of drawings, asking the right questions early, and building estimates that project teams can execute with confidence. You’re not just pricing work; you’re helping shape how projects are delivered.
Our client is an established contractor with an active civil pipeline in the GTA and a preconstruction environment where estimating is respected, collaborative, and central to winning work.
This is a general civil seat, meaning you’ll touch a mix of scopes across the civil space depending on the bid calendar, ideal if you like variety and want to keep expanding your toolkit.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare quantity take-offs and support conceptual budgets and detailed estimates
- Review drawings/specifications and detailed estimates for major transit, industrial, water & wastewater and more
- Assist with the estimating process end-to-end including tendering and bid close-out
- Contribute to pricing strategy, risk review, and value engineering
- Engage subcontractors and suppliers to support bid coverage
- Support clean handover from preconstruction into operations
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience estimating within a civil or infrastructure contractor environment
- 4-6 years of estimating Civil projects with a General Contractor
- Strong knowledge of Ontario market trade costs and procurement practices
- Strong understanding of quantities, pricing, procurement and risk
- Proficiency with estimating software and digital take off tools
- Organized, analytical and deadline driven
- Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Collaborative communicator, comfortable working with internal teams
