Senior Estimator ICI – Permanent – 2679 Vaughan, ON
About the Opportunity
Parker Huggett has partnered with an established General Contractor with over 25 years of experience delivering high-quality ICI construction projects across Ontario. This GC is part of a larger group of companies encompassing civil works, condo development and asset management. Projects include TTC, LTC and retirement homes, hospitals, recreation centers and government administrative buildings. Project values range from $10M-$100M. With a retirement in the Estimating team, our client is hiring an experienced Sr. Estimator to join this highly successful team.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Visit pretender site meetings and site investigations
- Perform quantity / material take-offs
- Checking estimates for accuracy and errors
- Solicit sub-trade pricing
- Budgeting and cost control
- Evaluating subtrade quotations during tendering
- Finalization of tender forms for submittal
- Analysis and summarizing successful and unsuccessful tenders
- Submittal of bonding and insurance requirements
- Communicate with Owners and Consultants
- Assess and evaluate risks of each tendered project
- Update and Coordinate Request for Tender and Quotation documents with sub-trades
- Ability to develop preliminary construction schedules using MS Project
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- 8-10 years experience as a project estimator with a GTA based General Contractor
- Post-secondary education in a construction related program
- Professional attitude and strong client relationship building skills
- Highly organized and an effective communicator
- Solid MS Office skills, including Excel
- MS Project Experience preferred
