  • Technical Director, Buildings – Permanent – 3239

    About the Opportunity

The vision behind some of the most complex projects will never be fully realized unless the gap between a client’s vision and a constructable reality is bridged. It’s simple to say, but far more difficult in practice. It’s both an art and a science and requires a skillful leader who can navigate all the challenges along the way to building great things. This is that opportunity and for someone capable, it’s the chance to be the catalyst that achieves some of Canada’s most ambitious builds and future landmarks.

You’ll lead the teams that sit at the centre of it all – the people who pull clients, consultants, trades, pre-construction and operations in one direction and keep them aligned from early planning through delivery. We are talking about high-profile ICI projects, coast to coast, with one of North America’s most established construction solutions partners. An employee-owned business, recognised as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for over 25 consecutive years.

If you have spent your career making complicated builds work and you want the scale and stability to do it on the projects that define Canadian communities, this is worth a conversation.

    About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

    • You bridge vision and buildability. You have a track record of translating ambitious design intent into something that can actually be delivered on time and on budget, on large and technically demanding projects
    • You lead the people in the middle. You are comfortable orchestrating clients, consultants, trades, pre-construction and operations teams, and getting alignment where it does not happen on its own
    • You think in design and delivery at once. Your background spans design management and construction delivery, so you understand both sides of the handoff and where projects tend to come unstuck
    • You operate at director level. You have led teams on major ICI builds and carried accountability for outcomes, not just tasks
    • You raise the standard. Quality, risk and value engineering are instincts, not afterthoughts, and you bring others up to that level

    About the Job

    • National scale, landmark work. You would be involved in leading the planning and delivery of some of Canada’s most complex projects in the built environment, coast to coast
    • An employee-owned business. As an employee-owner, your work and your judgement carry real weight in how both you and the company perform and grow
    • Stability with a long-established firm and the platform to be backed to do substantial work the right way
    • Genuine breadth. Hospitals, education, transit, defence, civil and more, which means variety and long-term career range rather than a single lane
    • A collaborative, true-partner culture. Built on commitment, integrity and reliability, with open and transparent communication baked into how the teams actually operate

    How to Apply

Please apply by completing the application form below and submitting your résumé. You can also apply by sending your résumé directly ScottH@ParkerHuggett.com or by contacting your Recruiter and quoting job 3239. • General Superintendent/Construction Manager, Water & Wastewater Infrastructure – Permanent – 3189

    About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands that great projects are won or lost in the field, long before concrete is poured and long after schedules are issued.

Our client is delivering some of the GTA’s most complex water and wastewater treatment facilities, and they’re looking for a senior field leader to take ownership of how those projects are planned, organized, and executed. As General Superintendent / Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for shaping field operations from early planning through commissioning, ensuring teams, trades, and partners are aligned around a common goal: building critical infrastructure the right way.

This is an employee-owned organization with strong technical credibility and a long-standing reputation for tackling work others shy away from. They are growing with intent and investing in experienced leaders who want influence, responsibility, and a real voice in how complex projects get built.

If you enjoy solving problems before they show up on site and leading people through challenging builds that matter to communities, this role can open your career up to a world of possibilities!

    Your role will include:

    • Providing senior leadership across all field operations from early works through commissioning
    • Working closely with project management, engineering, and preconstruction teams to develop realistic execution plans
