Superintendent, Commercial, Institutional & Light Industrial – Permanent – 3254

About the Opportunity

Ask a Superintendent what they want and the honest answer is rarely complicated: one project that’s theirs, an office that answers the phone, and trades they had a say in picking. What they don’t want is a head office that governs the site through paperwork and politics. This client is a builder whose reputation was earned in the field, and as signed ICI work lands in the GTA they need Superintendents who run a site like they own it. Because here, they do.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Single-project ownership, start to finish, on commercial, institutional, or light industrial builds in the GTA and surrounding Ontario markets
  • A project team built to support the field. RFIs get answered; the site isn’t the last to know
  • Input on the trades during buyout, because you’re the one who has to run them
  • Day-to-day authority on schedule, sequencing, and site safety, under a safety program the firm treats as an operating standard rather than a binder
  • A direct line to the PM and to senior leadership when it matters

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • You’ve taken ICI projects from excavation to occupancy in Ontario and the schedule held because you held it
  • You’re tired of being a “senior” Super in name only, bouncing between sites to put out other people’s fires
  • Trades want to work on your jobs, and you know why
  • You’ve had your fill of firms where the site answers to a process instead of a person

About the Job

  • Your site, your call, with an office behind you instead of on top of you. Adults who get results run this firm, and it shows in the field
  • People come first here, and not as a poster in the trailer. The crew that grinds through a tough pour is the same crew at the year-end party, and leadership knows both versions
  • Committed work in one region; the next project is real, not rumoured
  • A growing operation where field leadership has a voice in how things get built, literally
  • Competitive salary ranging from $145,000 to $170,000
