    About the Opportunity

    Our client is a well-established and growing general contractor with a strong presence across Western Canada, known for delivering high-quality commercial construction projects on time and on budget. With a robust pipeline of secured work and a collaborative team culture, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Edmonton operations.

    This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects, including renovations, expansions, and new builds, ranging from initial planning through to final client sign-off. You will work closely with subcontractors, consultants, and clients to deliver exceptional results while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Plan, organize, direct, and control all facets of commercial construction projects (renovations, expansions, and new construction) from start to finish
    • Develop and execute project schedules and work plans; monitor progress and adjust as required to meet evolving requirements
    • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
    • Manage client-initiated scope changes and issue change orders and estimates within two weeks of identification
    • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates; monitor project costs and prepare monthly profit-to-complete projections
    • Coordinate, manage, and communicate effectively with subcontractors to address delivery, labour, scheduling, and payment challenges
    • Facilitate team and client meetings, document minutes, and distribute in a timely manner
    • Conduct ongoing reviews of deliverables to ensure full scope is achieved prior to final client sign-off
    • Oversee all aspects of project close-out including deficiency completion, client walkthroughs, after-sales service, and O&M manual completion
    • Review and approve progress billings, staff hours, and client invoices in conjunction with the accounting team
    • Ensure all project tracking tools and logs (RFI, Change Order, Subcontract, Shop Drawings) are maintained and current
    • Lead health and safety planning and oversight on all project sites; attend quarterly safety meetings and conduct monthly site inspections
    • Liaise with authorities and regulatory agencies as required
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships with the goal of generating repeat business and written references

    About You

    The successful candidate will have the following:

    • University degree in construction, engineering, or a related field, or a college diploma in construction technology, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience
    • 3–5+ years of progressive construction experience as a Project Manager, Coordinator, Estimator, or in a field role
    • Proven track record delivering projects on time, within budget, and to scope with high client satisfaction
    • Strong experience across various forms of commercial construction including industrial, office, retail, institutional, and multi-family residential
    • Solid understanding of local building codes, materials, and construction standards in the Edmonton market
    • Proficiency with project scheduling tools (MS Project or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and navigate complex project challenges
    • P.Eng, CET, PMP, or Gold Seal certification is an asset
    • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required

    About the Job

  • Site Superintendent – Permanent – 3227

    About the Opportunity

    Our client is a well-established, nationally recognized general contractor with a strong presence across Alberta and a proven track record delivering complex, large-scale projects in the ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) sector. They are currently seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis in Edmonton, AB.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned construction professional to step into a key leadership role on high-profile projects. Candidates with healthcare or hospital construction experience are strongly encouraged to apply this background is highly valued and will be given priority consideration.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget
    • Direct and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site personnel on a daily basis
    • Enforce site safety policies, conduct regular inspections and toolbox talks, and maintain a strong safety culture
    • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
    • Monitor project schedules and proactively identify and resolve conflicts or delays
    • Manage quality control processes to ensure work meets design intent and contract specifications
    • Maintain accurate site documentation including daily reports, logs, RFIs, and progress photos
    • Coordinate closely with the Project Manager on planning, procurement, and scheduling
    • Liaise with owners, consultants, inspectors, and municipal authorities as required
    • Mentor and support junior site staff and tradespeople

    About You

    The successful candidate will have the following:

    • 10-15+ years of experience in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) construction, with demonstrated progression into a senior site leadership role
    • Proven track record as a Site Superintendent on large-scale, multi-trade construction projects
    • Experience in healthcare or hospital construction is a significant asset and will be prioritized
    • Strong knowledge of ICI construction methods, sequencing, and best practices
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and mechanical/electrical drawings
    • Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and construction safety standards (WHMIS, COR, etc.)
    • Experience with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar platforms
    • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
    • Journeyperson trade ticket, technical diploma in Construction Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience is preferred
    • Proficiency with project management software and site documentation tools
