    About the Opportunity

    If you are an experienced Chief Estimator who enjoys leading teams, winning work, and shaping the front end of major construction projects, this is an opportunity where you will have real influence on project strategy, pricing, and company growth.

    In this role, you will lead the estimating team through complex tenders and preconstruction pursuits across institutional, commercial, industrial, and multi-unit residential projects. You will play a key leadership role in securing new work, developing pricing strategies, mentoring estimators, and ensuring bids are competitive, accurate, and profitable.

    This is a leadership role for someone who understands construction, understands risk, and knows how to close a tender.

    As Chief Estimator, you will lead the estimating function and oversee all aspects of the tendering and budgeting process.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Leading and mentoring the estimating team through tender closings
    • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation to define scope and pricing strategy
    • Preparing and overseeing detailed cost estimates including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
    • Managing bid proposals and ensuring submissions meet deadlines and requirements
    • Working with business development and operations teams to develop winning bid strategies
    • Conducting risk analysis and identifying opportunities for value engineering
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
    • Reviewing project cost projections throughout the project lifecycle
    • Leading site visits, take-offs, and quantity reviews
    • Performing budgets ranging from Class D through Class A estimates
    • Supporting preconstruction planning and procurement strategy

    About You

    The successful candidate will bring strong technical estimating experience along with leadership capability.

    Typical qualifications include:

    • 10+ years of estimating experience in ICI construction
    • Experience managing tender closings and leading estimating teams
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
    • Experience with take-offs including earthworks, concrete, site servicing, and structural work
    • Knowledge of CCDC contracts (CCDC5, CCDC14)
    • Strong Excel and estimating software skills
    • Gold Seal or LEED accreditation considered an asset
    • Experience with Procore, BIM, or design-build projects is an asset

    • Drive project schedules, budgets, and quality standards with precision and care
    • Maintain strong, respectful relationships with all stakeholders, earning trust through transparency and professionalism

    About You

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
    • Has demonstrable experience working with a general contractor on $40M+ commercial and/or institutional builds
    • Brings a passion for delivering exceptional results and seeing projects through to successful completion
